Weezer just released their latest album, informally titled The Red Album. As a treat to local fans and also to gouge consumers, they cover songs from each country of the release. In Japan, they’ve selected BoA’s “Meri Kuri”. A good thought. Unfortunately, their version is a hack job. Somewhat sadistically, I made it the whole way through. I could’ve sworn wolves were howling in the distance. Afterwards, I just sighed and thought back to The Blue Album and Pinkerton. Also known as the last good Weezer albums.
