Singapore bans bondage film, rope sales plummet
Singapore has banned four films from its 21st Singapore International Film Festival. Among them is Ryuichi Hiroki’s Bakushi. What is a bakushi you say? Well, it’s defined as a “rope master”. Someone who excels at elaborate knot making and kinbaku. Ahhh, and kinbaku means what? “Tying up women”. Why the quotes? According to wikipedia, quotes in print are used to connote satire, sarcasm, irony or a euphemism. I’ll let you decide which one I’m thinking.
Ryuichi got his start making erotic films. Now, he’s showing them in international film festivals. Maybe there’s a place for my “home movies” after all. In the name of research, I watched a few of these bondage videos. Ehh, not my cup of tea. Too much whimpering from the girls. If anyone’s gonna whimper during sex, it’s gonna be me.
Favorite sport of the bakushi? Tug of war.
