Mayday closes out Asian tour

One Day in May… has a summary of the recent Mayday concert in Hong Kong. This stop represents the final destination of their “Returning to the Surface of the Earth” tour. Afterwards, Mayday heads back to the studio. Hopefully, they’ll get more experimental and widen their palette. Their latest songs haven’t measured up to their earlier songs. Then again, it’s hard to recapture that magic.
The article also points out that Hong Kong people have a sense of humor. In “Jump!”, their latest concert dvd, Masa, lead bassist, opines that on airplane flights:
it was necessary to wear shorts in case your “lever” rises, which pushing against the tighter trousers would make for an uncomfortable flight.
When Mayday landed in the Hong Kong airport on Friday, one of the LCD signs that are used for personal messages and advertisements was lit up to read, “To Masa, any leverage today?”
Funny. I know exactly what Masa means. That’s why I always ask for extra blankets on my flights. It’s always embarrassing when passengers stop and stare. Sometimes, flight attendants use my lever as a way to check cabin pressure. Other times, they use it to tell elevation. There’s always a use for my lever.
