In the past, M. Night Shyamalan created movies with unpredictable twists and turns. Just when you settled into your seat, along came a curveball to shake you up. Now, he brings us his latest movie, The Happening. 20th Century Fox previewed the film in a a thirty second spot on “Lost”.

Shyamalan cleverly uses words from past movie titles (in red, just to get the point across) to highlight the dramatic tension in The Happening. First you sense it. Then there are signs. On Friday June 13th. It. Is. Happening. Close up of a distraught man. Wide shot of bodies falling from the sky. Mark Wahlberg dramatically turning away from an open field. What is it that he has seen? Hopefully not another predictable M. Night Shyamalan ending.
