A month and a half has passed since the China earthquake occurred. Certainly, there could be just a little more coverage. It’s understandable though. After all, the pandas are okay, the survivors seem to be getting by alright and well, the dead are still dead.

Immediately after the earthquake, I whipped out my wallet to punch in a donation to Red Cross. I was overcome by compassion and searched for ways to help. Then, I remembered. I’m just one person, what can I do? Seriously, what can the ordinary putzes like us do to help?

Evidently, some girl in China thought differently. Eager to help the recovery efforts, Xiao Yun (”90后女孩小云” translated as Post-90 Xiao Yun) elected to pose nude so people would contribute money. Remember when people just passed out water bottles or donated blankets and clothing? Is this really what it takes to encourage donations? Because I’m all for it.

“I [Xiao Yun] am not from Shanghai, I’m from Sichuan, my hometown was hit by the recent earthquake. I have seen people from all over the country help Sichuan, and I am really happy. I hope everyone can continue donating for Sichuan, so I am posting some photos to encourage contributions.”

Me wonders what she would do for a really big contribution. *shudders to think* Well, it’s all for a good cause. When Sichuan recovers, the mayor will dedicate a monument to the city with the inscription, “Sichuan: Rebuilt by the young titties of China.”
