David Tao, Wang Lee Hom sing mediocre song for quake relief

/ / /

I’ve always wondered if talented people can just show up and produce instant magic. Watching these two, my answer is, no. Major props for giving their time (and probably money). This song, though, is horrid. Is this their official anthem to every disaster? David and Lee Hom produced this for the SARS efforts years ago. Now, they broke it out again for the recent Taiwanese telethon, “Send Out Love [to quake victims]“. Did I really need those brackets?

Anyway, the guitars are not in sync and neither are their voices. Plus, they never looked at each other when they were singing. Don’t they know the rules of duets? You always gaze longingly at your partner as you sing, imagining the words as they relate to the both of you. Maybe you nod in unison, a silent “I feel you dawg”. Perhaps they felt that would’ve been too gay. I’m sure the quake victims would’ve appreciated it though.
