Todd Miller of the ZeilgerBuild architecture firm designed this Australian home from 31 shipping containers. An imaginative mixture of materials and textures blends the corrugated steel walls of the containers with warm and inviting feelings from the brown woods used inside and out.
See that graffiti on the outside? That’s on purpose. It’s there to work with the use of shipping containers, bringing to mind such visuals one would see at seaports. The three-story, 6000 square foot home contrasts the steel, corrugated walls with the smooth, wood finishes inside and out.
